Your Love is Overwhelming!!!

You guys are awesome! I have not been able to check the blog since Travis' surgery until this evening. I was touched and moved to tears by the outpouring of your hearts and lives. We indeed serve a MIGHTY GOD who overwhelms us with his love. Thank you to all who have responded with comments. Don't think they are just taking up Internet space. I printed out every single comment and will take them to the hospital tomorrow to read to Travis.

We Love All Of You!

Jennifer and Travis,
I am a friend of Chris and Denise Clark...Travis is Project Mgr of their new home being built in Fairfield. I have been in your shoes with my husband, Dan, just 8 years ago. Dr Sawaya was his surgeon and you can't get better care than at MDAnderson (a heads up...the regular rooms are tiny, tiny). The ladies in the beauty shop are GREAT with the patients...they know just how to cut the hair to "match" all over and their spirit of ministry just oozes from them..they are very special ladies. My husband would tell you NOT to come home too early...even when you're so antsy to leave. Dan persuaded the doctors to let him go home a day earlier than they wanted him to. He admits the extra 24 hours would have made a big difference.Take it easy and slow...Travis will be more likely to catch illnesses post-surgery. Dan wound up in the hospital with double pneumonia just 2 months after his surgery...a cold turned to pneumonia literally overnight so be careful. Jennifer, for the next couple of months let people love on you and bring you meals and help you with housework and errands and babysitting. We had a 3 year old and 1 year old at the time (ironically, 3 days after Dan came home from MDAnderson, our 1 year old broke out with head-to-toe chicken pox...talk about stress!!!) I don't know you but I love you both because I KNOW where you are right now. I KNOW how to pray for you. In the months and years to come, your testimony of how God worked through this time will be a blessing to many others. When you hit a time when you're not sure where God is in your life, you have the strongest evidence that God does love you and He took care of you in the big and small ways, in ways you never could have imagined. He's a big God and He's so good!!
Praying for you....Cindy and Dan Tanner

Couldn't help but think of you all as I was reading my devotional this morning. May these words bring you encouragement and hope today.

From 'Streams in the Desert':
"It is commonly thought that a protected and easy life is the best way to live. Yet the lives of all the noblest and strongest people prove exactly the opposite and that the endurance of hardship is the making of the person. It is the factor that distinguishes between merely existing and living a vigourous life. Hardship builds character."

The two of you, your family and friends have truly spread 'everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him." He is leading you all in triumphal procession in Christ. May the Lord give you all peace and rest today. Take care of yourselves, both of you.
